Butterfly Clips are plastic clips designed to attach shadecloth fabrics to wire or cable. The clips feature a semi-circular recess through which the cable is placed. One side of the clip has barbed prongs which clip into the other side, sandwiching the shadecloth between the two sides.
Butterfly Clips are best suited to attaching to cable/rope no larger than 8mm. Clip dimensions are L:10cm x W: 5cm.
Instructions:
Stretch the fabric to the edge of the wire and fold the clip over the wire. To secure clip, you must first ensure that all the prongs have been completely pushed through the shadecloth before clamping the other side down firmly. When applying to mesh fencing attach the clip diagonally.
In larger applications it may be necessary for the fabric to be wrapped around the cable first, and then secured using the method above. This allows the butterfly clip to secure through two layers of fabric, therefore providing extra strength and even distribution along the entire length of the cable.
NOTE: For a professional appearance ensure that the fabric is evenly tensioned with the weave of the fabric running parallel to the wire support.
